Last night makes eight times I've seen them, with a 25 year break between the last time and last night.

Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma are the only two original members left, which is OK as they were key in the band's sound in my opinion. But you tell me if you can guess who was playing bass for them last night.

Hint.....He's played with Ozzy and Quiet Riot.

If you guessed Rudy Sarzo, you are correct. ****in' guy is 58 years old and still out there kicking ass.

Buck sounded solid as Sears.

Getting pics was a pain. I had to deal with drunk a*holes crowding the stage but I managed to get a few OK shots.

All pics taken with a 30D with a Caonon 85mm F/1.8. Some apeture priority shot wide open, some in auto mode with the flash. If I correctly recall, the Rudy shots are manually focused due to lack of light for the auto focus to work. ISO was set to 400.

Personally, I'd have used ISO 1600, no flash.
The flash kills the shots. Ones without flash indicate there was plenty of light, and some of those are actually quite okay....

Ditto Rene...

However, I love 4 and 5, I think it is the bizarre swiss cheese guitar....:D

I've shot at 1600 and been very disappointed with the results. Most of the shots are without the flash.

Faster glass is the answer.

Now, where did I put that pile of money..........

Scott, i shoot @ 1600 w/ the 30D all the time, and f/1.8 should be plenty fast enough, esp for a band like BOC.

i love BOC btw, great band...it's funny, in these pics it really looks like Buck's sporting a hairpiece. i'd not noticed that before.

i shot the band last summer

I wonder if there's something else I was doing wrong last time I shot at 1600. I'll have to use it again and post my results.

I guess even rock stars go bald.

Long time BOC fan here. None of us are getting younger, but we are getting better. So let the hair fall out, and let the rock and roll continue!
