Love number four...they just look so sad in some of the others, even though she was trying to smile in number 3. GREAT images.

LOL... it's not sad faces that you see... it's the typical... "come on, hurry it up.. I wanna go and play now" face... ;) Please tell me that I'm right, because I get that from my oldest often enough....;)

lol i know they look serious and maybe even sad...but i like that. kids arent always happy and smiley! i like to capture a variety of their expressions...maybe these ones are just too sad since several people have said they dont care for em

I like them all. Very nice stuff.

someone mentioned that some of the photo's the children are not smiling, its the same thing my wife tells me when I shoot my son. I have to tell my wife that children have a million different expressions and they all tell a story somehow?

Love them all! Nice work yet again Carley. The main thing i like about all of your photos is you capture the true expressions and personalities of your subject.

Excellent work, as always. I agree with christyjo2 in that you don't just capture photographs of your subjects, you capture their personalities and emotions in the photographs.

Nice Carley...I'm glad you don't live close to me because I'd never get my fledgling business off the ground. ;)

I agree too...I like the not so happy shots sometimes. They tug on your heart in a different way than smiles.

I love them all as well. I like capturing kids with different expressions so I don't think it matters that the girl in the second shot isn't smiling. In fact, often times I like them better!

I am a big fan of all your work that you've posted! If you wouldn't mind sharing, what do you do in your post processing that seems to put a "white" emphasis on your black and white photos? I understand if you don't want to share your secrets, but I am curious because I love it!

The contrast is really a bit too high for B&W in the first two, unless you were going for ultra high/unnaturally high contrast.

i appreciate the comment - and no i wasnt going for "unnaturally high contrast" but i rather like how the photos ended up :) might not be for everyone....we all have different tastes
