I like the non HDR one. No Car, No bag on ground Dang even the water bottle is gone.. Great shot though. Did you get a model release?

I voted for the second one, but I'd like to see a third option with even less PP :)

I think this shot can be great!

I like the non HDR version. I don't think the "computer game rendering" effect of the HDR suits the subject of this photograph. The non HDR version is very cool though.

Depending on where it was taken (or to be used) I'm not sure one would be required. The image was taken I guess in a public place - so everyone is fair game - and it's so obscure you would never be able to tell who it is.

I prefer the HDR (although generally I don't like HDR images)

Not sure i like the PP on either, maybe try a high contrast B&W?

I think calling this man homeless is the wrong mindset. Look at him, he's healthy, got some great muscle definition and no open sores. This is a man with nothing to hold him down, a free spirit and no cares in the world. I envy him in a way.

Number 2 for me.

I didn't vote as I like them both. They are both different pics and both work in their own way.

equally as wrong of a mindset to call the man 'healthy'. He is too obscured to tell. An arm with veins showing is hardly 'healthy', same goes for a dirty foot and leg. Hmmm I digress.

Number one I like the looks of, nice detail in the concrete.

Impressed you were able to sneak up on a dog, lol.

Nice shot!!!

Im feeling the way the man and his dog look in the 1st one. But in the second shot i preferthe way everything else looks.

The HDR is a little overdone for me. The second shot just looks right.

The HDR is a little too much for this subject imo. Personally, I think the photo speaks for itself and the HDR takes away from what it has to say. I do want to say this is a way cool photo!!!!!!:)

Angus, it's not my picture or place to pass judgement but I think you blew the highlights out.

Well editing on such a low res web quality image isnt easy to get everything perfect but yes i agree.

i personally would crop the old man and the dog and create two pictures. the 1st picture is a tad too heavy on my eyes, however the subjects handle well in the post processing. also the background is a tad too dark.

Thanks for the comments... Completely fine with the BW conversions, in fact I welcome them...
They look good, but personally I think the colour version works better with this image, as the background is very busy and even though it poses a problem in the colour, I think it is the colour of the subjects that separate them out from the background. On conversion, I feel that this separation is taken away. Just my opinion.

Thanks a lot again!

Why post the same poll here and in the People forum? And why switch the picture order around?

Different viewers, different opinions... Different forums, different perspectives...

The more the merrier :D

As to the switch... I don't know, I just uploaded it the other way round.... was an unconcious decision :)

I was only half serious. In Australia you don't need a model release unless you are using the image for commercial purposes.
