So does anyone remember a couple years back there was a Sony P&S that let you flip the IR filter out the way. One of the effects noted was that wet clothing becomes semi transparent to IR light. There tended to be lots of grainy photos of people who had just been swimming.

And now Canon releases a camera with no IR filter. I wonder how many shots we will see taken around pools. :)

I like the way you think ;)

Actually the Sony camcorders with the early version of "Nightshot" enabled you to shoot people walking down the street and get the same effect, without being wet. Those cameras are going for big bucks to those who know.

I wonder if nightshot was doing anything aside from including the IR end of the spectrum. Maybe it include an IR light as well. Something all to easy to set up.

I was just entertained by the idea that people had so much fun with a P&S that could do that. Now it will be available in a camera you can T mount onto a telescope.

Actually, thinking about that its probably a bad thing. Stalkers and paparazzi will have a field day.

How about an infra-red flash? It'd mean people don't blink because of it.
