Not sure if this has been posted...did do some research but maybe I didnt search enough. Anyway if anyone has this printer and has printed true grayscale black and white images please post here. I have had this machine for over 2 years and cannot print a quality black and white image. They all have a slight redish tone...none are true black and white. It's been so frustrating!!! I do love this printer and black and white is my love but what do you do if you cant get a quality black and white image out of the thing??? I've tried many different types of papers including canon, different types of ink including canon. I have heard that Lyson has a set of quad black inks out there...has anyone tired these?

Anyway if you own one of these babies (i9100) and can tell me how to print a quality black and white image I would be most appreciative!!!!

Thanks!

This is a common problem with all inkjet printers. I have an i950 and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to get quality pure B&W. The best you can do is get your printer profiled (if you have not already done so). You could also try masking the colour cast by using duotones, but this will mean it will never be pure B&W.

I am also looking at the quad black inks from Lyson. I have sent them an email requesting price and details of the system. The idea being to convert the i950 to B&W when I get my new printer.

First of all what kind of paper you are using, secondly have you tried the Canon PhotoPaper Matte? Paper does play some role in the way the colors will shift on the paper. Also what printer software is being used, and what printer profile.
