I read through all of the posts I could find about pocket wizards and I just wanted to see if someone could confirm what I think I understand. Here goes....

The PW transceiver goes in the hot shoe of the camera with no cable necessary there. The PW receiver goes on AB #1 with a 1/8" x 1/8" mono cable purchased from my favorite local electronics store. When picture is taken, PW transceiver then triggers AB #1 which in turn triggers the other ABs in the set up.

Is this right??

Thanks

John

I believe my PW's came with the plug for my lights. The rest is correct. You just your other monolights to slave. If you get a Sekonic L358 meter you can put a $25 module in it from PW so you can wirelessly trigger your lights for metering.

Thanks Scott.....and mostly due to your repeated reccommendations, I did also get the Sekonic L358 and the module for wirelessly triggering the lights.

That set up makes learning lighting much easier. No cords to trip over while you are trying to figure out ratios and such.
