Hey everyone one,
Well I was asked to come and shoot my cousins soccer game to get some action photos of him for a recruiting website.
I told him would because I have been meaning to come to his games as well so I can mix in the photography to.
I will be using the 70-200 f/4 attached to a 20D handheld.
Will I be ok? It is said to be
75deg and sunny w/ PM showers.
Lets hope the rain holds off until after the game.
The verdict?

You will be fine but limited to when the action comes toward you. 400mm plus is typical for soccer. Position yourself well and you will get plenty.

As Eigga wrote, 200mm is awfully short for soccer. As far as f4 is concerned, you will do just fine during day with that.

well the weather changed and its sunny and no clouds all day so now all i have to worry about is getting close enough but i can always crop if needed right.

Yes, you can crop all you want. Of course IQ will suffer depending on how sharp the image is and how much you crop. The goal is always to fill the frame as much as possible.

The 70-200 will limit you on play that is further out, but it can yield some good shots when the action is close. If you can shoot from the goal line try to only shoot the action from midfield and closer.
