I'm no pro. I try to be but I'm not. So far, all the shoots I've done have been friends (albeit, mostly paying friends). Carlos and Sandra have been engaged for the nearly two years that I've known them. They met me at my place in Santa Cruz and we went to the Boardwalk and a beach near my house.

Comment and critique please! I want to get better.

All are great. The only problem was the bright sun made them squint a little. I often encounter that too when shooting outside.

Very good composition and you did capture the 'love' of the couple.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Yes, the squinting was a problem. I couldnt decide if I wanted them wearing sunglasses or if Id try to get them to suck it up.

For #2, I wish I panned to the left a little more to get all if the roller coaster cars in frame. I think I should have shot around f/4 so it was a little more distinguishable as well. Any critiques on the others?

I think #3 has come off quite nicely... the rest don't strike me quite as much.

3 and 6 for me, but they are more my style of shooting.

the shot in front of the coaster is nice as well, but the crop isn't as nice.

Great shots! I just got back from my first engagement pics and am anxious to start the PP.. Looks like you had a great couple.. The guy that was in my shoot was not too pleased at getting his pics taken... You did good with these!

I like em!
I guess for CC 8 could be little tighter.
None of them have a real tight comp. Like there hands really close. or a really tight portrait.

I have not got into this type of work yet. But from the outside looking in you should be happy with these. I am sure the clients will love em.
Nice work!

I love #2, I think the crop is great how it is.

I think they look like a really fun couple. You really got great emotion in the shots- fun and lovey...but not cheesy at all! Keep up the good work!

i like #2 the most, but IMO i would have kept more of her legs. the shirts with the big ed hardy designs keep taking my attention. maybe next time you can recommend them to wear more plain clothing.
