I spent part of an afternoon on the west shore of the Bear Lake this October past. A bit chilly for the fun and sun seekers, thus we had the whole beach to ourselves, perhaps the whole lake. We had brought a picnic and a small ground cover to rest upon. I had driven down to check on the cattle up in the high country, that needed to be brought down soon. But the reward of the day was a lonely moment on the fine quartz sand beach of the Bear Lake.
The waves gently splashed against the sandy shore and true to their nature . . . here came the gulls. Looking for a handout and at seasons end, not many sun & fun folks to feed upon this time of year. They might of been even forced to 'work' for a living again, lol. Anyway we shared what was left and saw this fellow we named, Captain Hook. Looks like he has a treble hook affixed to his beak. Though he seemed no worse for the wear. We snapped a shot of him to remember the afternoon with. I share it and the warm rays of this late fall afternoon here with you.
