Was out for lunch and came accross an overturned sand truck. Took a couple shots just to show the wife, and then started wondering if maybe a local newspaper might want them. Here is said pics:

1) Is this even worth submission?
2) Whats the proper way to submit?
3) What kinda of payment mechanism should I expect?
4) I can find the payment calculators on-line, but anyone care to ballpark what a small local paper might offer?

Thanks in advance for the advice. If it doesn't come in handy this time, it always might in the future.

5) it'll probably be too late now :(

Also imo the pictures dont really show it particularly well anyway, so not sure if a paper would want them....perhaps the 2nd picture if it didnt cut off the spillage might work

Yeah... I certainly realize they are not good pictures. The first one was taken one handed while driving through the blocked intersection. The second one was taken shortly before the cops looked like they were going to run me off. They had the entire area blocked with either rescue vehicles, fire trucks, or people. There wasn't a good angle without being right in the middle of the cops. I didn't want the picture that bad.

Probably not newsworth anyways.

I think the bigger isssue here is that its most likely too late.

Next time, dont even bother asking. Just send 'em in. If the editor doesnt think they are worthy then he'll be able to tell you more then we could.
