Okay, because us TPBM'rs tend to bend the rules in the competition thread, this thread is for us :D
This is for general chat and off TPBM topic items. Enjoy!

Edit 07/14/07: For those who may wander by, stop in and say hello :D We are a friendly, albeit odd, bunch and welcome any and all.

G'mae all again ;)

Woah - what a ride! While I was busy quoting, too. We still had six posts to go when I started - then I couldn't find the breadcrumbs - thanks for coming back to leave the trail Jon ;) Hmm. Breadcrumbs are relevant to what I was quoting...

Products on this side of the pond have warnings like that, too.

And, I agree with you. Nut allergies (and wheat and many other types of allergies) are a fairly recent epidemic. Allergies like that were unheard of when I was school aged.

One cause of the wheat allergies that are more prevalent today is the supermarket bread. Often, the supermarkets don't bake the bread long enough in an attempt to reduce their costs and keep the prices down. Unfortunately, flour contains a poison which need to be cooked out of it in the baking process. By not baking properly, the supermarkets are actually causing these gluten allergies - effectively poisoning their customers

Right - better find something for the walls...

In keeping with Jamies first post...

You can. I quoted Jon from the last thread after he closed it. You just have to do it manually. Personally, I don't think I'd put in the effort if I was quoting more than two or three people.

me either. I was so surprised when I finished working the other night and they were bleeding. I can get blisters just from leaning my arm on a chair for a while...it may have something to do with my medicines...(the hypersensitivity)...instead of giving me blisters, shoes will cut (like a knife) if I don't use that moleskin bandages...it's just weird.

Vons has these vitamin enhanced meaty chewy things for dogs that I've been buying for Minnie for a couple months now. She loves 'em. I give her three of 'em every evening. I just noticed the "dosage" instructions on the package. It says dogs over 10 pounds should be given one per day, and also includes a warning to take the dog to the hospital immediately in case of overdose. Hmmmm.... Maybe I shouldn't be giving her so many every day!

Then again, she hasn't had a problem with it so far. But, I guess I'll back that down to two per day, just in case.

weird thing is it says it is a narcotic Lisa, just not an opiate. Or at least that was my interpretation of the label thingie before I decided to stop reading it lol.

I thought it wasn't so I looked it up again and it says it's not.
http://www.drugs.com/ultram.html

however since it's completely man made, they've made it to have opioid like qualities...at least from what I've read. And while it says it's not addictive, it appears that people can become addicted to it...although that's odd if it's not a narcotic...

meds are funny.

in any case, it doesn't seem like it's working very well for you because when it does, you know it.

Skrim17
15th of October 2008 (Wed), 21:17
my take on pain meds is they don't take pain away, just make you not care about it and I can't say that is the case for these. I had xrays done today so I'll call my doc tomorrow and see if they show anything.

tomorrow we are taking my guys to Medieval Times (http://www.medievaltimes.com/home.aspx), should be a hoot!!

You all will have a good time. I would take some Wet Ones or the like as the meal is served with no utinsels.

Curt and I went shortly after I started at my company. At the time I was HR and I was sent a free pass for 2 when the one in Chicago opened. It was a promotion in the hopes I would book a corporate function there.

Also, beware of where you're seated (if you have a choice). We were only two or three rows back near the center of the arena. In other words... Where the jousters reign the horses in tight as they make their sudden turns. Those horses could kick up a lot of dirt in your direction while you're trying to rip your chicken apart with your bare hands...

I got the same mental picture many times from Ashley's babysitter's descriptions of how Ashley acted whenever I would drop her off.

Speaking of mutts. I finally met my new next door neighbors a couple hours ago. I was out walking Minnie when I heard, "So, that's the dog that scared my daughter a couple days ago." from someone, as Minnie and I headed across the parking lot on our way toward the field.

Apparently, the new neighbor's three-year-old girl got a glimpse of Minnie and ran to mommy about this "giant" dog next door. When mommy finally saw Minnie she was laughing her butt off...
