Hi guys,
a little complicated question here, but I hope that someone may have an answer...
My flash setup consists of an ST-E2, one 550EX and two 420EX's. I can get exactly the results I expect out of this equipment. (Yes, I too went through E-TTL hell before I got it figured out... :))
Sometimes, though, I want to be able to recompose and take a number of shots - without having to use the FEL button before each one of them, and without having to keep the active focusing point anyware perticular... What I would like to do is to set a FEL, and have it regulating the flash output until I turn it off or change it.
I realize I can achieve this through upgrading the 420's to 550's and setting all three to manual and regulating the output - but shouldn't this be possible to do somehow with the equipment I have? With Swedish prices this is a $1500 flash configuration!
