I don't think I have shared this one yet.
Single RAW - 9 different exposures from -4 to +4. The sky was absolutely flat in the original.
LMK what you think:

I like it. Dramatic but not overdone. Good job.

Just about perfect, what program did you use for the HDR.

Thanks Jo, I try to go for non-overdone HDR. ;)

Thanks a lot :). I used photomatix for the HDR and tone mapping, then made a few slight adjustments in CS2.

I think it came out very good. Any chance you could post the original without any processing? I'd love to see what you started with for the 0.0 shot. My theory is, if you start with a perfectly exposed shot for the 0.0 then a single RAW HDR should come out a lot better. But if it's not the perfect normal shot, it won't. Just curious to see if I'm right. :)

It's a really crappy shot actually. I'll find it and see if I can get it up. ;)
Here it is:

Great. I think there is something to learn by comparing them. I was reading my old 1D manual the other day and while it has a +/- 3 stop spread which you can set in AEB, it also goes so far as to include exposure compensation automatically if you need it. In other words, you can set in +/- 2 stops AEB, then another stop of Ev and shoot, then the middle shot will actually be at + or minus 1 stop Ev. Neat. I think this will work good for HDR. :)
