Does any company make a photo viewer that will hook to a Canon that will show a photo as soon as you take it. Something with a 6x6 size screen or maybe a little bigger. I want to use this in the field.

Not that I have ever seen. How about just a small laptop? One of those 9 Inch display netbooks or perhaps UMPC?

Portable TV/DVD player with composite video input maybe? if all you want is to get the general impression of the shot, anyhow. If you want to really examine it, go with a laptop and some remote shooting software.

Michael has the easiest solution, shoot tethered and display on a small laptop using the software Canon provided. But I suppose you can also use the TV port and display the image on a small portable monitor as well though you have to press the review button first so it doesn’t do exactly what your asking.

Thanks Michael

I was looking at Dell and I forgot they had this small 9in netbook out also. I shoot at Dirt tracks so I guess if I were to put this in a bag it would work great.

Thanks! This has been a great place to get info!

I think if you are looking for instant viewing without taking the card out of the camera, then you will need the notebook...

If you are looking for a viewing device that reads your cards, then there are several options out there... A quick search on Amazon or any other site returns devices from Digital Foci, SmartDisk, Maxx, and Epson... They allow you to offload your files from the card to a hard drive and use a 3-4 inch screen to view the files... I use the PhotoSafe II from Digital Foci and love it for portable storage, although that device does not have the viewing capabilities...

Hope this helps...

If you have a camera (1D series or XSi) that shoots using SD cards, maybe use an eye-fi sd card. For the 1D, shoot RAW to the CF and L jpg to the eye-fi, and it will work its way through your wireless network to your computer.
