Why does Canon insist on producing software that REQUIRES a minimum desktop resolution? First time I ran into this was 'File Viewer Utility' which requires 800x600, I can live with that. Now it's 'Digital Photo Professional' which requires 1024x768. Unfortunately my display's max resolution is 1280x720!
I would really like to try this software out. Any way to trick it into thinking I'm running 1024x768?

Are you using Windows or Mac OSX? I have the Mac and I can get the DPP window to resize to the size of the window when I make the screen resolution smaller than 1024x768. If you're using Windows, couldn't you do the same thing with the max/restore buttons on the upper right hand corner?
BTW, why do you have a 1280x720 screen, if you don't mind my asking? Is that a wide screen resolution or somthing? I have a wide screen monitor but it does 1280x800. Just curious.

My display is an HDTV that I can run a desktop resolution of either 960x540 or 1280x720. I am using WinXP Pro. The DPP program won't run at all, it just pops up an error msg like 'this program requires 1024x768 or greater to run...' From there the only choice is to close the error dialog box.

Just brought up XP Pro on my Mac and resized the screen to 800x600 and sure enough, I got the same message you did re the size requirement. I looked in the registry to see if there's an option to plug in a different monitor size but couldn't find any so it looks like you're out of luck unless you can either make your screen resolution bigger or you connect a 2nd monitor that's big enough to it.

If ur editing photo's you need atleast minimum of 1024x768, i prefer to work with 1600x but thats personal preference at that point. But i think u need a new monitor and/or graphics card/driver.
