Newbie Question

Okay Im sure i will feel stupid at the end of this thread

Okay i have premiere 3.0 and decided to go back and load about 100 tapes on to my computer

My question is how do i edit the captured stream into different videos

example i will have a tape with xmas and new years but would like to edit it into 2 vids one name xmas07 one named new year08

Its pretty easily done (its been a while since I worked with Premiere, I mainly use Final Cut now).

Pretty much: Capture the entire tape and then throw it onto your main timeline. Find the point where it goes from Xmas to New Years then cut there. Copy the New Years video, make a new sequence (or project) and paste it in there. You can then delete it from the other timeline. Name the Christmas timeline xmas07, then save and export. Go to the other timeline and name it new year08, then save and export.

There you go! Two videos from one tape.
