Hey - show your workspace ....
http://images.fotopic.net/?id=2333054&outx=600&noresize=1&nostamp=1
Edit2
THIS IS OLD HOUSE AND OLD COMPUTER. WHEN I GET AROUND TO IT, I'LL POST THE NEW STUFF
Edit -
Since everyone's pretty neat and detailed ~~
1. Viewsonic 191b - 19" LCD. Yes I edit photos on a flat panel and yes the colors match to my prints.
2. Old Planar 15" LCd to hold the tool palettes.
3. Old Dell 1.4ghz P4 w/ 250gb in storage, 768mb ram, 128mb graphics card, DVD-burner, cable. Next computer I get I'll build myself. Should see my wish list at newegg.
4. S900
5. Wireless router
6. webcam
7. hood for the 70-200
8. Sony DCR-PC120BT video cam, that can take 1.5 megapixel photos - my first "digital camera".
9. Bogen/Manfretto monopod with legs - aka useless piece of crap.
10. Nature Trekker AW II - aka nice bag.
11. Laptop with wireless connection and PS Elements - aka "the device that lets me hang out with the family instead of being off in some corner all the time".

I'd be too embarrassed. I'm not even sure which corner of the room my desk is buried in.
I'll see what I can do, though.

Well... I dont have a wide enough angle lens and I didnt feel like stitching anything together (I may later on).. gosh I cleaned my desk and was prepared to take the photo and I was like wow it is just not a wide enough angle... anyways I drew it out lol
OOPS I forgot, there is a webcam on top of my boombox and pretty flowers and candles around lol.

Oh lol... dust on the sensor hehe great... actually I dont have a blower brush and I have a spec of dust on my sensor right around there... well a little below it, but still funny...
It is a knob... there is a drawer there that stores all my money lol ($40 in there I think) so if you break in to my house you know where my stash of money is haha
EDIT:
WOH I just opened the drawer and have like $100 in it, I think someone broke in to my house and gave me money, time to buy... hmm a matt cutter me thinks (that is what I am planning on buying with christmas money) or a wide angle lens... or like a couple 5 in 1 reflectors so I can do studio stuff... or some studio lighting... or some... gosh I want a lot of stuff... if anyone wants to buy me anything I will let ya haha

Okay, here it is. As you can see, I'm in the middle of two secret projects: copying barnold999's nifty office design, and putting the finishing touches on the green Super Rebel.
I have long been a believer in the adage that holds, "A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind." That extends to an area encompassed by a circle roughly 60' in diameter surrounding the desk.
Also, please note the large number of books dealing with Photoshop, Windows XP, and Office XP. Please be advised that most of those books have never been opened, but are simply my choice for office decor.
Someday I am going to clean up the mess of wires. My wife finds them particularly offensive, and that's the only good thing I can think of to say about them. When she stops complaining, I'll do something with them.
For the record, the PC is an HP with a 2.66 GHz P4 processor, and 1-gig of memory---pretty pedestrian by today's standards. The monitor on the right is an 18" Sony flat panel, and the monitor on the left is a 19" Viewsonic CRT. The printer (on the shelf) is a Canon i950. The plastic box with the red lid under the desk contains a small percentage of my collection of old Pentax screw mounts.
The painting on the wall to the left is an actual 1945 Pennsylvania Railroad calendar which I'm preserving behind glass. Those are some of my train photos that are stuck in the bottom of the frame.
The stack of papers on the left are bills.
I hate to tell you, guys, but this is a real boring place.

Mmm,can't take pic right now.New computer don't work with old p&s digicam software.300D comes next week!WHOOOHOOO
Imagine old kitchen table with cut down legs and polished top facing a very plain coloured wall with exposed supports (it's an ancient farmhouse).
New computer lives under table 'cause it sounds like an industrial aircon unit (!),old computer still lives on left of table-till i give it to my brother (yes, feel sorry for him),top of 'fridge next door is littered with various lenses, adapters and other camera gear.eos500 still sits at side of desk where i left it after measuring it for the possibility of trying the EFs lens on it.
Yes i agree.A clean workspace is definitely a sign of a sick mind,LOL

Here is my computer cubby hole, I have carefully framed it to cut out the fact that getting to my desk isn't entirely unlike a small army assault course!
Start in the middle, the monitor is a crabby soon to be changed 19" crt. it does a pretty good job on colour but the dot pitch is rubbish.
On the left you will see three filing trays full of paper, a scanner and junk. Next to it is a fluffy merecat, every desk should have one.
Look carefully below the desk for evidence of more junk - note the cables down the side too....
On the right is the canon i950 with the dust covers down - fairly important in this room! More junk on the desk further right, and some blank cd's/dvd's.
In front of the desk you can see the graphics tablet and my old radeon 8500 sat on top of an old (athlon xp 2200+) machine that hs become a handy table :)
The PC itself is one I built, Dual P4 3.06, radeon 9800 pro all in wonder, 1Gb DDR plus lots of storage space and a film scanner on top of it.
I agree about what is indicated by a tidy desk.... I did actuyally clear all the paper that should be in the bin off to take the shot. The post was show your workspace, and I hade to make sure you could see it before showing it :D :D

OK, enough of this cleaning up your work space before taking the picture. Here, in all its daily glory, is my (our?) work space. To the left is my wife's; that's her 1999 license plate collection. To her left is a wonderful NEC 870 laser printer.
Mine's the more business-like one (ha, ha) to the right. At the far right is my son in-law's Dell laptop which I just saved from the trash can. Left of my work station is a slide scanner, Epson injet and Epson Perfection 1200U Photo scanner. Below the clock is a 1942 calendar perpetually showing January 1942. So now you know my vintage. And in the corner is a seldom watched 20" TV connected to a Dish Network receiver feeding 150 channels.
In the foreground you can see the arm of our office sofa which is primarily used to store more piles of paper, computer parts, etc.
My former employer had a lame saying: "A cluttered desk means a cluttered mind." to which we replied "An empty desk means an empty mind." I think the truth lies somewhere in between :)

Okay, here's my real workspace at home (the first half) where I do the bulk of my "work". Since I'm into really top secret stuff notice the number of help I have enlisted to keey an "eye" on my things there? That guy in the center not only lends an eye but also an ear when I'm working late into the wee hours of the morning and I need someone to talk to. :D

And here's the other half of my workspace (on the opposite end of the room). The guy in this picture gets pretty lonely since I don't use this workspace very often. That's why he cries a lot! :(

I know my office design is great... but lol... it really isnt... I wanted to build my own custom desk, but was too lazy so I pieced together stuff from Target.
BUT if anyone wants to donate a new computer to me I will um... do something like IDK... haha I usually try some kind of trade off like taking photos for a computer, but that dosent work here too well... but I do web design decently... lol. Come on feel bad for me my comp is 500mhz with 192mb Ram... it starts being bad if I try to give it a raw file to decode.

OK OK I took a couple photos... and my space is actually clean, because by my logic a clean space is a happy space (I think I cleared 4 diet coke cans off it last night... and just took a wendy's cup off of it... gosh I drink too much soda)

About the only thing I can tell from all these workspace photos is that either many of you lead very clean, uncluttered lives, or I am a packrat. I have stuff piled up all over the place. If I could find my 10 mb of web space, I'd show my work area.

I have both. I didn't realize how bad my pictures really were until I started printing them. They looked beautifuly on the flat panel, but the prints were very washed-out and dirty looking. I bouht the CRT, and everything improved.
Flat panels are great for just about everything else, but not for emage editing. Probably the best $225 I ever spent.

Four of them in total as well (not including the two full PCs pictured above)
They are controlled by the second keyboard and mouse pictured via a 6 port KVM on the 21" monitor. (obviously setting "1" for the KVM is the second screen on the primary PCs dual head graphics card)

You've inspired me. I'm moving my computers out to the family room where we have 14-foot ceilings. I'm going to put in a false floor to hide all the cables. That should make Mama happy. I just have to figure out how to break the news to her about the television and the sofa being moved ou to the garage.
I think CDS has also inspired me---I'm going to pull all the computers apart and turn them into rack-mounts (even the two iMacs). There's something just a little sexy about a mobo just hanging out there in space. I'm learning so much from you guys.

Hey, Rocky, I suggest you put those 3 brand-spanking-new virgin lenses back in their cases/boxes until you get the 10D. Otherwise, if you keep them there as pictured you'll likely end up taking sepia toned pictures with those lenses when you finally do get your 10D (from all the nicotine collecting on the lens). :D
BTW, when are you going to get your 10D? I know you've been stewing about it for a while now.

I'm a bit of a packrat too, so I won't take a picture of my space. I'd be too embarrassed for that picture to get out. Besides, I'm in the middle of a complete system overhaul. So, I'll just describe it.
I've been working with a custom built Athlon 1.4 Ghz PC with 512Mb, 60Gb and 20Gb drives, and a fairly new ViewSonic Professional Series P95f+ 19" monitor. The 60Gb drive died a week ago, unfortunately, and that's where the OS lived, so the PC won't boot up any more. I took this as a sign that it was time to upgrade.
So, I have on order a 2.5 Ghz P4 with 256Mb (I'll be putting the 512Mb from the dead PC into it), and 80Gb drive. I'll keep the keyboard, optical mouse and ViewSonic monitor I currently have for the new PC. I also intend to add a DVD+/-RW drive to it, since it has an open bay, and those are getting pretty affordable.
For now, I'm getting by with a laptop I just happened to buy a couple days before the desktop's hard drive crashed. The laptop is a 2.4 Ghz Celeron, 256Mb, 40Gb, 15" XGA TFT, DVD/CD-RW. Would be nice to have more memory in it, and the LCD screen sucks for photo editing. I should hook the ViewSonic to it so I can get some work done while I'm waiting for the new desktop to arrive...

The best way to get that couch and TV into the garage is through the judicious use of the sound card and sub-woofer. Within a few days, mama will be begging to move out to the garage. Of course, there's the slim chance that you may find your computer setup scattered along the curb and the locks changed when you come home some day.

Hmm, here we go I guess.. First of all, theese where shot before I got my 10D. They where shot with a P&S called Minolta DiMage Xt which is my fathers. So quality sucks. They where shot to show fellow geeks exactly the same as we're all showing each other now. How do we live.. But I got a picture of the desktop there, so I just use it. Believe me, things have at least not getten _ANY_ tidier, clearly oppsite after I no longer have a GF to clean it every now and then =)

This is at least how my desktop looks. Unusal tidy at the moment that picture was taken.

This is my "workhorse". The text on (some of) theese pics are written in norwegian, for that I apologize, but I guess you'll manage to extract most of the specs anyhow.
http://vvizard.net/pics/g33k/family.jpg
Here's my "family". I also have a 1m high inflatable TUX, but he's got a hole now, so he won't hold the air :/
http://vvizard.net/pics/g33k/servers.jpg
And lastly, my two servers. They act as gateways for my workstation, my dads workstation, and his laptop. They also host www.vvizard.net. Although not much to se there atm, although it's the one hosting theese pics. One of them also acts as vvizard.net's mail-exchanger, and they run a couple of different SQL-servers which I use in development of my freelance-work. They both run OpenBSD, and although the explanation will mean nothing to you not speaking norwegian, you can probably understand the specs of them :) They're not exactly powerfull anymore, but more than enough for what they do :)
http://vvizard.net/pics/g33k/bookshelf.jpg
And lastly, in case anyone haven't yet figured out I'm more of a geek/measurebator than photographer, here's my bookshelf to prove it ;)
I've just turned 20 now, and this year I'm back in my parents basement while I attend one year to a school here. Yeah it's dull, but heck, I've lived by myself before, and although that has it's advantages, I sure as **** couldn't have afforded a 10D, and L/EX glass then =) So this year I'm using to save money, and almost everything I earn go straight into photo-equipment and alcohol to kill my mind now :) Still can't wait until Autumn, to get my ass out of this basement again, and move somewhere new, with all fresh things to shoot again :-D Happy photography!!

How does someone in Norway develop such mastery of English? Your language skills are way beyond what they teach in high school----even by Norwegian standards, I'm sure.

Belmondo: Actually I have no clue. I didn't even know that I spoke good english (by english standards). I know I speak fairly good english by norwegian standards, but what to expect? I've spent _WAY_ to many hours a day in front of a computer-screen since I was 7 years old. I've surfed the Internet from it's "start" (as we (most people) know it), and dialed BBS's before that. The first couple of years I think I used my dictionary more than my keyboard ;) Beeing 10 years old, home alone, surfing the net really force you into knowing how to spell "p**sy" in english :-P Then with the years, I've luckily come to use computers/Internet for more "serious" things (as can be seen from my bookshelf I guess :-P) But I think it all boils down to one simple fact. Most things on the Internet are written in English, and when you spend several hours a day reading articles on the net, participating in english forums, and hanging out on english chat-channels on IRC, you pick up something along the way. You have to! Cause I've been sleeping through english-class (and most other classes for the sake of the matter) at high-school with severe hangovers, still getting good grades. Guess I'm just lucky :) But this year I'm taking the required math/physics for engineering, and those I can't sleep through. Believe me, I tried last year ;)
That was another long post by me, and hopefully it doesn't contain too many spelling-errors. I have to admit I paid more attention to the letters in this post than I usually do, so here's my english at it's best (without a dictionary though)
So if you think I speak english good, then thanks. I seriously had no clue about that =) I'm normally the person who excuses his lack of english-skills in chatrooms when making the first post. And usually the replies have been: "No need to excuse, you're not any worse than most of the other foreigners" =) At least I've _NEVER EVER_ heard anyone tell: "No need to excuse, your english is good!" =)
So happy shooting :)

I'd be willing to bet you've learned how to spell lots of words you can't use here. Also, I'd be willing to put your command of the language up against at least half the 'native-speakers' who post here---myself included.
I can't imagine the thought processes involved in being bi-lingual (or bi-anything for that matter). I've often regretted taking Latin in school, but back then, that was the thing to do for 'academic majors.' About the only thing it's been good for is to have a little insight into some of the legal terms that are commonly thrown around in business.
We're lucky to have you amongst us.

Bi-lingual (what's an english word I didn't know :)) isn't to bad when you start with it early enough. Around age 9 or so in the norwegian school-system. It doesn't get fun until you start to get quad-lingual (can I say that? :-P) or better :) I rate my language skills like this:
1) Norwegian
2) PHP
3) English
4) C++
5) New-norwegian
And on the late nights, theese may change, so that PHP is my native =) (I'm doing a lot of freelance coding in that language)
Yeah actually.. One language wasn't enough, some jerk found out 100 years ago (or so), so he invented the "new" norwegian. Which of course, we all _HAVE_ to learn way to many years at school. Only exceptions are if you're bad at regular norwegian, then you can have extra-teaching in that instead. Believe me, most kids in Norway aren't to fond of the guy inventing new-norwegian which they _HAVE_ to learn at school, but no-one uses, except in some parts of the country. They're very related, and people speaking new/old understand each other perfectly. We just have to learn the grammar, since there's a (imho) stupid law here, saying that if you work within the government, and someone writes you a letter in new/old norwegian, then you have to answer it in the same language.. Plain stupid in my eyes :/
I also took a shot at german in school at the age of 13 or so. I was there (against my will actually) for 1.5years, until the teacher had enough of me never wanting to open a book, so one day she threw me out =)
Well, we've made a good effort at hijacking this thread now =)

If this works correctly, you'll see a slightly fuzzy non-flash (EXIF says 1/10 sec. @ F-2.8, 100 asa) picture of my work area. Its a catch-all where I do everything from surfing to paying bills to writing the occasional report for work. But its fast becoming an area where I play with photographs most of the time. And when my SLR finally goes digital, I'll be playing even more.
This was a handheld picture, BTW. I was too lazy to drag out the tripod. Here's the flash version:

For some reason, I like the non-flash version better. Less "stark-looking".

Anyway, this is my setup, the picture was taken with Canon D60 with a 17-40 F4L, the box on the floor is a no-name Athlon 900 MHz with 750 Mb ram, and is there only to use the Agfa Duoscan and the Nikon LS-2000 scanners, which are both SCSI (BTW, does anyone know if those SCSI to Firewire connectors would work with those scanners?). The laptop underneath the LaCie 19" Monitor (calibrated with Colorvision spider/Optical 3.7) is a Compaq 1.2Ghz with 1 Gb ram and I have 2 120Gb and one 80 Gb Firewire drives for storage and backup. On the wire shelf near the battery charger there is the Tripper 40 Gb for storage on the road.

Tom:
Thanks for the nice words. Yes, those are windmills, and that is just the 'tip of the iceberg.' There must be thousands of them stretching for a couple miles to the west. The area is called Beaumont Pass, and it's a giant funnel between two mountain ranges that winds are forced through and accellerated---it's the ideal location for a windmill farm---winds through the pass are often in the 20-40 mph range, even though they're only a gentle breeze after they pass through the pass. I might have some better windmill pictures if you're ever interested.

No. I didn't know you could change lenses. You mean I can use other lenses on these bodies? That's big! It means I can use my 24-70 without buying a third 10D. Is lens-swapping covered in the manual?
What on earth did you take the photo with???
I took the picture with my G5. I can't think of a better use for a classy P&S like that than to take pictures of DSLR's at work.

I have a Toyota Tundra pick 'em up truck. I carry all this stuff in two Halliburton cases, a backpack, another gadget bag, and half a dozen recyclable plastic bags from the local market. Without Gitzo, it’s a lot of trips from the house to the truck.

---UPDATE---
Since this picture was taken, my office has become much more cave-like. The two monitors on the desk are now a 19" Sony flat panel and a LaCie 22" CRT. The second PC is on the shelf to the left of the desk. The low 2-drawer file cabinet on the right has been moved to the left side of the desk. My Xerox copier sits on top of it, and the i9900 is perched precariously on top of the copier waiting for a more permanent home. The low file cabinet has been replaced by two standard 4-drawer file cabinets, and a shelf unit fills the space between the computer desk and them. The laser printer, fax machine, i950, and various routers, external hard drives, USB hubs, and cable modems sit on the shelves.
We've all heard about accidents looking for a place to happen, but this is the mess that found a place. There is a little room on the opposite wall, but that's where the stereo and my wife's iMac live. I suppose I could give up music and companionship to make room for the i9900, but that would probably cost more in the long run.
Hmmmm. I wonder if we really need the living room/dining room?

I gotta take a picture, but I also use the ViewSonic 19" LCD panel mounted to the wall, with an Athlon64 3200 machine, 1Gb of high speed OCZ RAM, a couple hundred GB in a RAID 0 array, running Windows XP 64-bit edition for extended systems and XP32. I have a couple laptops as well for customer engagements.
Oh and I have a BIG system with (32) 2.8Ghz 2mb Xeon procs and 48Gb of RAM, and an (8) processor 1.5Ghz 6mb cache Itanium II 64-bit system with 64Gb RAM. Both attach to a Clariion CX700 with around 14Tb of 36Gb 15000 RPM drives via (8) Emulex LP9802 2Gb Fibre Channel cards. Is that nerdy enough for you? Both systems are running Windows 2003 Datacenter Edition and are sitting there for whatever I need. Mine all mine :) If anyone in Dallas or Ft. Worth wants to play with BIG Windows let me know ;)
I've been really pleased with the performance of the 64-bit system at home. Even in 32-bit apps things happen quick. (1Mb onboard cache helps!) Photoshop operations are extremely quick, and as Far Cry and other apps are soon released for the 64-bit platform, I'll get to enjoy much higher frame rates than the 32-bit users :)

I've been seriously considering a dual Opteron set up ... real soon..
Can't decide between the Tyan Thunder,.. MSI or I-will boards for starters.. (leaning towards Tyan)
The degree with which the large 16bit .psd files that the MkII leave me working with has bogged down my decrepid old AthlonXP has me really thinking I need to upgrade...
Nothing has made me want to consider an upgrade for ages.. and now this.
I had just switched from a fast RAID0 rig to a "safer is better for my pics" RAID 1 set up... all was fine.. I didn't miss the extra speed untill WHAM.. 48 MB image files. Even a GB of DDR doesn't seem to help.
Thinking this board;
http://www.tyan.com/products/assets/images/s2885.gif
Two Opterons,.. at least a gig of RAM per processor.. (yes.. EACH CPU has it's own memory controller for DOUBLE the RAM access speed..)
Dual WD 36 GB 10,000 RPM Sata drives in a striped RAID for the OS on the 1st partition and apps on a second with a fast swap file for Photoshop..
Then a pair of 200GB regular old ATA 133 drives in a mirror for data redundancy. (not to mention re-using my current three 160GB ATA 100 drives for MP3s and such)
What do you think? Will this open up my bottleneck?
Adam Hicks

If that board will let you run a single proc, I'd recommend starting that way and seeing if it will handle your load. You'll be surprised and amazed at the performance difference. The large on-die cache coupled with a 1600mhz FSB will run circles around your current 266/333/400 FSB.
I use the Asus board and couldn't be more happy with it. I've always leaned towards Gigabyte and Asus as the two most reputable board manufacturers (been using them for a lot of years, since the 386 days.) I originally bought an MSI as my local shop was out of Asus, and I took it back. The support wasn't quite as good, but I did like it better than Abit and I-Will and some of the others. Tyan's aren't bad.
If you are going to plunk down the money for SATA drives, just buy some 73Gb 10k RPM SCSI drives on ebay. Pick up 3 of them and run a RAID 5 with them. That'll get you the read performance of RAID 0, with only a slight penalty on write, but it gets you the fault tolerace across the drives.
If you have a DVD burner, you could archive your files once a week / two weeks, etc to protect from data loss. I've seen Motherboard ATA / IDE controller corruption leave users with bad data across their drives, and no RAID level will protect from that. Backing up to DVD or tape (pick up a used DLT drive) is your best bet if the data is your life.
Just my $.02. Oh and when you buy that DDR RAM, go with someone like OCZ who has a much lower latency and publishes the timings for their chips. I've seen amazing performance differences in the 64-bit stuff with this faster RAM.
If you wanted to send me a large image file to run some filters on or ? on my Athlon64, I'd be happy to do so, just to compare and see if there's a noticable speed difference in Photoshop operations.
Take care,
Adam

But .. I used to use SCSI.. but theres no way I would plunk down the duckets for a SCSI raid controller when a SATA is on the Mobo.. (even though in my heart of hearts I love SCSI)
the 36GB 10,00RPM sata raptors can be had now for only a shade aboove $100.00... compare that to a 10,00RPM SCSI drive... eek!
As for RAM.. I've been sticking with Corsair... OCZ didn't even exist the last time I boght RAM... (I exagerate) But point taken. Good ram!
The latest Iwill Dual Opteron board with Nforce chipset is looking to bump off the Tyan as my dream board.

Christ Jeff.. that looks like the Bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise! 8) 8) 8) 8) I want ONE! :P
Thanks CDS! How'd I know you'd employ a Space reference ;). It is somewhat a 'Bridge' in that I control approx. 95% of my network from that chair alone. Everyone just rolls their eyes though when I accompany IT work with Picard commands and authoritative gestures... Sigh....
Hey how did I miss this thread all this time?
Jeff, that's a nice looking office you got there. CDS's workspace is plain cool :P .
Thanks cmM. I noticed that ilya (the originator of this thread) has a Viewsonic 191b just like mine. They're nice displays. I'd buy a few for home if they weren't so darned pricey. They can rotate Vertically for portrait/document work which is kind of neat.
I've just replaced the silver 18" Viewsonic VG800 LCD on the left with a black 17" VP171b. It's one inch smaller than the VG800 but it matches the style of the three VP191b's... and that's what matters right!?

Well, it seems that everybody is showing up, so I guess I'll jump in myself. Here it is.
1) Backup Compete PC, mainly used for storage and emergency processing (p4 3 GHz, 4 GB RAM around 1.5 TB internal storage space)
2) Main PC (Windows server 2003, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB disk space, Parhelia and triple monitor setup)
3) Linux box (experimental)
4) Samsung CLP-500 Color Laser printer (extremaly cheap and working flawlessy, not for pics but for documents, it has a built in duplexing unit, I just love it)
5) External Storage space (4 x 300 GB HDDs, despite what the lables say, I have to change them)
6) Communications center (Fiber optic termination for Internet, fireall, NAS/FTP server/Printer Server, router, ethernet switch and networks switchbox)
7) 3 x Samsung Syncmaster 710N, one single HUGE display connected to 2)
8) Samsung Syncmaster 152S monitor, connected to a 6 ports KVM switch (you can see two mouses over the pad, the other keyboard sits in a drawer under the desk) for 1) and 3)
9) Video equipment (I do a lot of NLE): standard 14" Sony TV, switchbox, dual format VCR (Hi8 and S-VHS) an a sat receiver.
10) Paper stocks, various types
11) DVD stock, various types also, includes some double layer and some double sided-
12) Epson Stylus Photo 900 - Used for test printout (what I really want printed goes to the lab) Unde it there is a Canon scanner, but it just cannot be seen)
13) Laptop station, here is where my laptops live whenever I need them in house (rarely)
14) HP laserjet 3150 Laser printer/fax
15) A few drawers where I keep CD-R stock, spare hard disks and parts and something else.
On the second pic there is the "dark side" (I won't show the "darker" one :D) with my reloading bench, storage of brass and bullet, and some other accessories. The paper bags on the floor are cleaned brass ready for reloading. On the door, the card taped is my best group with my Ruger 77 MkII (3 shots, about 1.5 cm group, at 300 meters). I will NEVER do another one like that with that rifle, so I just kept it :D

Rob612, that's a hell of an interesting room you got there.
Here's mine. For now my computer is downstairs because the air conditioner upstairs has been broken for a while. Would have been a better setting if it was in my room all filled with planes. Sorry for the bad picture but I did it super fast as my XT had no battery left.
Stuff:
PC that I built me is 3.2ghz P4, 1gb 3200 corsair ram, 9800 Pro, Abit Ai7 mobo, Audigy 1, 120gb Seagate drive, 60gb maxtor drive, XP pro.
Stupid gateway monitor (using money to buy camera stuff not LCD :p) displaying my desktop which includes a B25 Mitchell bomber.
B&H catalog to right of mouse, hehe.
Circular polarizer laying at top right of desk (I should put that away)
Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick.
Games thrown under shelf include: Half life 2, Half life, IL2, Battlefield 1942, and others.
Printer is a all in one HP PSC2210.

No no no no no! It doesn't look like an enterprise or anything, looks actually pretty posh or yuppie (I design my own Ikea furnature and build it) It is just in the lay out of a starship. Where the main viewer (the TV) can be seen from the computer terminal (computer).
Although, I do have about 50 micromachine ships I collect, they're under the couch in a rubbermaid, but man I'd never own a TriCorder or Shatner autograph! Yeesh. Gretzky is enough autograph for me.

There really not as bright as they look. The neon's in the computers are on a switch and the desk lamps only have 15 watt bulbs. I normally keep the room pretty dark. Wife is always complaining, "ITS TO DARK IN HERE". But hey, its my room and that's the way I like it.

Thanks, every 3-4 years or so I built a complete system with the newest 'best' parts I can, then stop looking at computers for a while. I really dislike the upgrading every few months that the manufactures seem to try and shove at everyone, do it right and be done with it for a while.

I finally setup my drafting table, some cheap Ikea furniture and my server in the same room. This cleans up the other areas of the house nicely and it feels good to have an "office" finally.
Took the time to compare my new 17-40 against my super lens. My sigma 15mm fishy. Feel free to post an image of your "office" or where you make the magic happen.
