Traveling in Spain these past two weeks, went to Plaza Mayor for
lunch today, I had sold my G9 to fund my G10 purchase but....I had
left just before the camera arrived :( so I borrowed my daughter's G7
which I owned before the G9 ;) and I think maybe I will miss the longer
lens on the G7 and 9, as the G10 has a wider albiet shorter end zoom

during our lunch a few tables away, caught between another table of
people, this lovely lady made our viewing a bit nicer for our meal;

the following were shot mostly with the longer end of the zoom;

Point is, the G7 is a very capable camera and handy to have, can't wait to get
home tomorrow night and crack open the G10 box though! :)

Gary, let us know what your impressions of the G10 are. I’m really happy with my G9 but being the techno-geek that I am, I’m also really lusting for the G10. Came close to pulling the trigger twice earlier this week and again today. I’ve only had the G9 for a few months…….. I’m one sick b@$t@rd aren’t I. :confused: :lol: :confused: :lol:

Just got home from my trip, it's almost 5am to me, Spain time, very tired, but the
camera looks quite nice, as most have noted the grip is much better without being
too deep so it still is compact like the G9/7 are, just a tad taller.
The dials seem to have a little better detent to them, safer in my mind from accidentally
moving one.
The trouble is, the battery is still charging :( so I haven't powered it up yet!! and will
most likely not be able to do so until tomorrow, argh...will start a thread on this when I
have some shots taken and can see clearly ;)

Some differences, the card is inserted with the logo facing towards the battery
which is opposite of G7 and G9

The noise does seem to be less with the higher iso, will have to do more comparisons
and the difference in the zoom looks to be something I can live with.

First impression, I think I would have been happy to have stayed with the G9
but again, this is just the first impression.

Also Picasa and Raw Therapee doesn't process the RAW format of this camera :(
I just loaded the provided software from Canon and will have to go through this
in order to use the Raw features of the camera.
