According to the Sibley Guide, this should be a western red-tail...

But then again, I'm a mammal man, birds are just a side hobby.

20D w/100-400 IS @ about 20 feet, taken about an hour ago.

Just got back from the digital lab up on main campus. Printed the image out at 32"x48" - one word ... AWESOME! ! !

The detail in the feathers is amazing, the 20D provides so much more detail in comparison to the 300D.
