Went to this fire tonight. I arrived, shot a wopping total of 32 photos and my 40D error 99'd. It failed on me yesterday as well but I got it working again yesterday, tonight, I wasn't so lucky. After I hard reset it 3 times a cop walked up to me and started giving me problems. I had already checked in with the command post and was given permission to be there so I let the cop have it, I was already pissed so I guess that didn't help. After a few minutes of arguing, I ended up walking away from the cop and leaving. I did have my back up body but I didn't feel like staying, bad enough weekend as is

Going to Jamesburg on hopefully Monday to see if I can get it fixed. From what I see here it sounds like a loose PCB connection. I guess I'll get to see what CPS can do.

Anyway, here are the photos, C&C appreciated!

Nice series of shots. Did you use the 70-200 for these? You weren't using AA batteries in the grip were you? I was getting a lot of ERR 99's and that's what it was from. I started using the BP's and it went away.

Thanks. Numbers 6 and 7 were with the 70-200, the rest were taken with a 24-70.

As for the batteries, I am using Canon batteries in the grip. I did everything I could think of to reset, including trying to shoot without the grip. Nothing seems to work. I'll be going to CPS in Jamesburg tomorrow. I'm hoping it's the PCB issue I've been reading about.

Just thought I should add that this fire is now confirmed to be fatal. This is the 9th fatality by fire in Burlington County, NJ this year.
