I wish that they were a little larger so I could see them better. ;)

I absolutely love them though. #6 is my absolute favorite! Great shot there!

Joel,
These are very nice, muy guapo. I wish I could do a wedding in that setting. The furthest I get in to Mexico is the Frontera, Matamoros, along the Valley Border. Anyway Fantastic.

Thanks to both..

CCHooks, you're not too far away then, Matamoros is about 3 or 4 hours from here. Monterrey is so much better than any border town, you should visit sometime.

Nothing I would love more, We use to live along the Italian Alps when I was in the Air Force, and it was goreous, and what do you mean 3 -4 hours, man It's like 3 hours To Laredo... Anyway If I ever go, I'll let you know.

Why would you go thru Laredo? it is not in the way if you're in Brownsville (across from Matamoros). You would drive from Brownsville to McAllen, cross the border to Reynosa and then drive to Monterrey. That's about 180 miles, give or take a few. :D

No I'm in Corpus Christi, but I guess I never looked into the directions. Maybe have to look in to it. Do you just go in to Mexico to shoot events there, or are you from there? I looked into your blog, and you have some very nice Quinceaneras shots, the attitude of the images.... you can feel how very mature they are, very at ease and natural in front of the camera, we don't get that here. I stopped doing them for many years because the lack of maturity of the Quinceanera and the Damas and Chamberlains.

Hi cchooks..

I'm from Mexico, I live in Monterrey. I've noticed quinceañeras here are willing to do fun things and are not affraid of what people will say. I'm saying that usually they are more mature than I expect and that makes it easy to work with them, only a few have been too worried of what their friends will say if they do one thing or another for their videoclip and photos, most of them really want to have fun and run, jump, dance, ride, sing.. etc for their videos and photos.
Another thing I have noticed is that the dresses here are far more attractive than those used in the latin community in the US, theirs seem too traditional and old fashioned, while dresses here are trendy and they are always looking for new things. That's what I have seen from looking at many quinceañera photos and videos made in the US, perhaps I have the wrong idea, but that's what I've seen on the net.

In the Cuban traditions, they are as you describe in your post, they are more trendy and love to do deep themed events. We are too americanized here. I told my wife about Monterrey, and thanks very much, now she wants to go see it. She even said I can go help you on at a wedding so she can go shopping. Now see what you started....

hehhe... actually I don't think you would regret it :) people have a good time here and always leave with a good feeling about the city. So David, are you of latin heritage?

Here's a picture my wife took of a quinceañera. I really like it:

Joel,
Yes my heritage, and my wife is Mexican, she is Suarez/Hinojosa, and mine is Bazan/Cardenas by my mother. She has not bothered me about something so much than when Luis Miguel was coming to town. Anyway, I put in a couple of Quinces from early this year, quickest thing I could find.
