This is my first visit to this part of the forum, I normally hang out in the EOS forum - hi!

I'm loaning my old A70 to my Mum for her 10 day trip to Australia soon. I'll give her my old Kingston 256MB memory card to use. In superfine mode it takes around 150 photos, in normal it takes about 270. I've had a bit of a play, and I can't really see any difference in the shots, even looking at them at 300% magnification, so i'm thinking about setting it on large/normal for her, rather than large/superfine that I used to use (she won't change settings).

Does anyone have any experience or reason why I might go with one over the other? If she gets prints they'll be 6*4 or 8*6 at the very most, they're much more likely to be the smaller ones.

Thanks :)

hi tim, i usually set my 70 at small(640-480) and normal. i will get 1363 photos with my 256mg card and also get a very good print up to 9x11 on my printer. i use that setting all the time with no problem.

Thanks Tracy :) I think i'll keep it on large but throw it down to normal - just in case she wants big prints - 280 photos is heaps for her I think :)
