Problems with camera ~ Opinions please

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this camera? About 50% of the images come out this way. It is a new Panasonic Lumix FS20 10 MP.

Hm, doesn't look like anything you could/should fix yourself. I'd bring this back to the store immediately.

just kidding...take it back to the store for an exchange or send it to panasonic for a repair. Like OoK said above, it doesn't look like it's something you can fix.

Have you tried a different memory card?

Yah I'd say there is something VERY wrong with that! I don't know where your from or where you bought it but here in Canada at most stores the FX and FS series from Panasonic are replaced by the store same day(exchanged if you will) if the problem is under warranty.

ok thanks...I will take it back. Would a faulty SD card do this?

I only have one for it, maybe I should try that first.

Possibly, if the card is damaged - it won't be storing the picture information correctly. Before taking the camera back to the store I would suggest trying another memory card first, just to make sure that isn't the problem.
