The gold piece locking mechanism on the above picture is stuck after I shipped the tripod by the airline.
Is there a way to fix it or exchange the part rather than the whole ball head?

thanks

at worse you could just replace the RC2 ~ 25 bucks or so i think

I could probably repair your problem in a few minutes without replacing anything. If you want to consider it, PM me and we can discuss.

i'd try flushing with WD-40 and if that didn't work i'd replace the clamp.

Great. I didn't know that's an option.

I don't think WD-40 is an option. Feels like something is bended so it kinda stuck and couldn't get into the lock position.

Yeah - top plate just unscrews and it's the same as a stand-alone RC-2 holder whatever they're calling them nowadays. I converted my 488 to an RC2 that way.
