Hi
I am planinng on going to Brands Hatch next weekend to try my hand at Motorsport photography, quite new to all this have recently purchased;
Canon 40D, 18-55mm, 55-250mm.
Can anyone advise me on settings for panning , etc and best location at brands.
any help would be great

Birdie, what part of the country do you live in? If you were in Southern California I would be more then happy to meet up with you and show you some track that I like to shoot at and also race at. There are some good advantages to So Cal other then the smog that we breathe daily. There is nothing like the smell of fuel at 8am.....mmmmmmm
If you are in the So Cal area, shoot me a PM and maybe we can help each other out.....I am usually the one that is taking pics of everyone, but no one other then the track photog usually shoots my pics.....

Thanks very much for the offer sounds great, unfortunately I am in the UK near London, so might prove bit difficult, but would be nice....

That bizarre, i've just logged in to ask the same thing, as I'm also of to Brands Hatch on Sunday to try some motorsport photography out.
I'm a DSLR virgin after finally upgrading from various compacts!!!!!!!

No worries Bill, it's just a hop, skip and a jump over the pond...hehehe
Well good luck and keep practicing. As they have always told me, practice make a lot of difference, perfect the technique and you will have some stunning shots.
Now if I can only take my own advice :oops:
