Shot late afternoon in the desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan. The movie Lawrence of Arabia was short here and it seems that nothing has changed...

In my non-professional opinion, other than it being a bit too dark, I love this shot!

You are getting too too good. This is terrific... simply terrific...solid
It would be nice to see a few PS variations to help decide whether the lower, darkemed figures actually add to the composition .My guess is no.
At this darkened and mysterious level, the image takes off with the figures on the Left hand side. Assuming a more full-colored treatment was possibleour attention would then focus on all figures, and a new color beauty would arrive -- but ? wold the the mystery and stunning opacity would be gone?
Keep em coming. You are at home in this light and culture.

Thanks for the comments. Don't agree with the 'too dark'. Even the darkest part still shows detail on my monitor. As for removing of one or more figures: I already removed (with a lot of effort) a camel that was on the right. The rest just has to stay although I might delete the 3rd from the right as well.

Now that you mention it, you could be right about the lightness. My monitor here at work is cranked up as bright as it will go, whereas my home one is as low as it will go. They're all different.
Again - great shot! :)

I guess that Jim solved the problem.. I am shutting down here at work and lo and behold my ViewSonic Monitor here is considerably brighter than my Daytrek screen at home. The subject is perfectly lite. But... I do miss the mystery of the darker presentation. Anyway, this is a wonderful shot.
And Henk .. please pardon me if I parade around like an expert...it is good for my ego ... and (most of the time) I try to be a nice guy !

This is a simply great photo Henk. I hate to say it but I too find it just a tad bit dark.

I love this picture. Even with the silhouettes the picture tells a story.
Looking at all these pictures, I feel I have a very long way to go. And that is why I have made a point to visit this forum everyday to learn from you folks.

Sounds like it's time for monitor calibration, folks... :D
Henk, this is a very nice image, with a sense of adventure and mystery. The subtle touch of highlight on each figure adds depth to the silhouettes. Good work.

I read all these enthusiastic comments - but where is the picture? I didn't find a picture or a link to it in Henk's original posting - though I have seen other excellent pictures from him on this forum.
