Guys, need some advice here.

I did a studio session for a mother and daughter. The mother wears glasses and looking at the photographs the lights were visible in the shots.

Lighting was positioned about 3 meters from the subject both at a 45 degree angle.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Some options:-

1) Angle the glasses slightly downwards (does the job in most cases)
2) Use broad side lighting so the reflection from the key light can't be seen
3) Remove the glass from the frames
4) Polarizing filters on the lights and on the lens

I would try moving the lights at higher psoition. Keep key light at 45 deg angle and pointing down but fill is straight from above camera position.

In this case with a baby it would be hard.... But I have seen and used the technique of shooting the subject with the glasses. But before you take the first photo instruct them that you are going to take 2 shots. and make sure they understand that they are not to move after the first shot, but reach up and remove the glasses for the second shot. Then in PP clone just the rim of the glasses back on.

What I would do.

Used to work at a company that does school day photography and that's what we were told to do. Does the job in most cases I think.

lift the back of the glasses up above the ear approx 10mm. when using film this was the easiest way and it still stands today. This tilts the glass downwards so the reflection goes below your lens.
