Great shot but it's really tough to beat a very cute, blonde girl in a red dress surrounded by Americana.

Just to clarify: the first three shots are the "people" category, the second three shots are "nature," and the last three shots are "action." So the cute girl didn't beat me, the owl and the landscape did (and the owl was very good).
