With the first image:
You shot at f/13 for 15 seconds. It's still a little soft possibly due to diffraction and a bit of camera movement. Try f/5.6 for about 6 seconds.
Because of the wide lens, you've got a bit of edge distortion and the perspective needs correction (tilting verticals). You can do this quite easily in Photoshop CSx using the Lens Correction filter.
With an image like this, I find it's better to use say, a 35 to 50mm lens in portrait orientation and take a panoramic series of shots and stitch them in something like Photomatix (rather than a single wide angle shot). It's a lot of "learning" and experimentation, but will get you a better image in the long run.
In the second image: I love it. You just need to lower the camera height. I would have laid on the ground (or squatted) to take this shot from her eye level. Good work!

The first picture looks like you are standing behind a post or something.
#2 is great. Very interesting, good exposure and good composition. Congratulations!

2nd picture would be great if she was in a different outfit.

I am not sure about the second photo.for me it seems soft...she is a sweetie, but the pose feels odd.I think having her leaning against the wall would have been more "real".but thats just me.
The frame is really thick for this photo.it works for the first , but this one doesn't need that much?

Hi
I will try to give some constructive criticism.
Photo #1 kind of looks very squeezed in to me. It is probably better to give the Parliament more room by moving back. The building would look better at dusk while there is still some colour in the sky.
#2 would benefit from some additional lighting, like flahgun on the right. It looks a little dim. I am not too sure about the placement of her right leg, maybe it shouldn't be bent as much.
Good luck,

Soft as in out of focus to me.nothing is really visually sharp..the entire concept just doesn't come together for me.but then again, its not my photo;)
