BAck to the house in the woods again. Just strying something different. You know I was 100% sure I had taken shots in B&W - but when I downloaded - zippo. This has happened to me before, so I am either going mad or doing something to balls it up.

Nice shot though.

Cheers

She was with me, as was Martin, but two herons started calling (for a beautiful bird they make an awful noise) and the kids got scared! :) I'm sure they'll grow up to tall a therapist that Dad used to take them to the woods and scare them half to death with weird animals.

Actually we got to within about 10 feet of some fallow deer (with a 2 and 4 year old that is some going) and Martin was sooooooo excited. He said "I never imagined I could get this close - can I phone Grandad?" Amazing kids! :D:D:D

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif the heron's seemed to have perfect timing to make the woods even eeerier

I guess that's how we all came to believe that woods, and other places like it were haunted years ago Damian.
we heard a screech of a bird or the roar ... ( of a lion ? http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif ) and went belting it outta there
and put it down to 'haunted, yes it's definitely haunted' http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

would grandad be able to make the trip and see the deer with the kids too ?
it's the 'sharing the feeling' is wonderful for them
it's lovely that they saw so much and with their dad's strong hand protecting them and their fears

You are right Marie - death-watch beetles must have frightened the life out of people in the past. Still do in fact! :)

Grandad has had an invitation - 4 year olds have a way of inviting don't they! :)

I'm trying to get them both to appreciate nature - but their Mum wasn't happy on Sunday when I opened up the compost heap and let them hunt for worms and slugs! :D
