Hello again all,
I have yet another question. i want to do soemthing with photography, but im not really sure i want to do studio work, like seniors weddings family shots. I thought it would be fun to do magazine shots. the fall line kinda thing or for just different ads.
The question i have is how many of you do that kind of thing and how did you get involved with it. what schooling did you take ect....
Any help or just tell me your stories would be helpful.

Photography is great fun and a great career. However, professional photographers can spend up to 90 percent of their time marketing and dealing with business issues, so you must consider that it is not all shooting pictures.
The best thing to do is to get very good at making the pictures you really like to make. "Amateurs practice until they get it right. Professionals practice until they don't get it wrong!" This way, you will be better than your competition and you will be motivated in the strongest way because you will enjoy it.
For schools, get really good at mathematics. Even if you don't "use" all of it directly later in life, the understanding it will give you about how the universe operates is invaluable. Science is good, especially physics. Art is good, including art history. Being able to read and write well is very important so make sure you take English courses, including creative writing and literature.
Photography schools are generally worthwhile going to, but are not necessary, since experience and skill count more than degrees. However, a degree of any kind is useful insurance if you decide to change careers later.
If you think that fall lines of fashion or other ads would be good to do, then make the best photographs you can like that with whatever materials and people you have available. Try to copy some pictures that particularly appeal to you, but when you show them, be sure to say they are copies. Before long, you will be making your own original photographs and then you will take full credit.
Good luck!

Thank you two very much that has helped. I have something set up with my neighbor and a couple of her friends for me to try to do a shot coupying things out of a magazine. So i can get some practice in there.
I will try to post what comes out of that after I do it.
