If you aren't familiar with the vivitar cable, here is what the tip looks like

Since I have a vivitar, I've realized the vivitar pin is usually not super tight (or what appears to be, in comparison to owning a screwlock PC cable). I know this because whenever I have the pin inside, and then push on the pin to see if it can get any tighter, my flash would pop.
Is that an indication that my vivitar cable is not tight? Are all vivitar cables like that?
I ask because I'm figuring out a syncing speed issue with my wireless transmitters (not performing very fast, close to 1/100)
