Nice shot, well composed and in focus, but, It really doesn't scream "New Orleans Gritty" it could have been taken in Council Bluffs, Iowa or Bayonne, NJ. Need something to tie New Orleans into the shot.
Just my 2 cents...

True, living most of my life around New Orleans, it has a certain N.O. feel to me but I can see how that might not translate so well to others.

the outskits of the city have typically been littered like that a long railways and such for as long as i can remember.
it is a super great place. i love the people, the food, the music.. just the feel of the place. although im not sure i could survive there.. that humidity is a killer.. but i suppose its like living in NC.. you get used to it after a while.
i have always been really into all of the history, buildings and everything there.

Yeah the architecture in the french quarter is amazing, so is the food and the general atmosphere. You aint joking about the humidity though it gets downright unbearable. The biggest downside is it never snows. Its been in the 80s for christmas a few times before.

yeah we had that in NC too a few times. it wasnt too fun. but there was one year when i was still at home. that we had a pool party on christmas ever in so cal. this was several years ago.. two years ago it was in the 90's luckily i was in jersey for that one. it was cold and snowy. really felt like christmas.
i am hoping to get back to N O sometime durring this next summer because i havent been in so long. and i really really love everything about it there.
and the food is incredibly amazing. and the lemonade is awesome too..
