My client is requesting that I be able to display the image down a firewire cable from my Canon Mark II to my MacBook Pro as I take the shots. I presently use Aperture and just upload from the compact flash card. What software do I need to display these images as I shoot? I don't want just thumbnails, but full screen or close to full screen.
I have had a few other photographers tell me Aperture does this, but I can't make it work.

Canon put software on your CD that will download automatically. Then you just need a viewer.
JPegger will do it.

So will Jalbum.net, especially if you can take a minute for it to build a gallery.

khayden,
With a firewire 4 pin to 6 pin cable, you can do it directly from the Mark II to the MacBook Pro and onto Aperture. The 4 pin plugs into the camera, the 6 pin into the MacBook Pro. I had to purchase the 6 foot cable ($20). You can also get a 15 foot cable for about $40.
I believe there are 2 cables that come with the camera. One is printer cable (USB) on one end - using this cable will cause the camera to say "busy". I did not have the original firewire cable that came with the camera, so I am not sure about that one, hense I had to purchase the 4 pin to 6 pin cable.
It does work, I use it. Once the first shot comes into Aperture, hit the "F" key to go full screen. After that every shot that comes in will be full size.
