Trying to work with photoshop to create a picture similar to this one:

I can't seem to make it look like its part of the background.. Let me know what I can do to improve this...

The first thing that jumps out at me is your horizon line.

Too distinct and too sharp. A little blurring or even the suggestion of some hills back there would break it up more.

Also, have a go at darkening the driver side window some to make it look as though you're seeing through it a bit more cleanly. IMO, it's too bright compared to what is behind and through it.

Maybe soften the shadow under the car a bit too. It's quite sharp but it wouldn't be on a totally overcast day like you've created.

Great concept and it's really, really close to Awesome. Just needs a couple of tweaks.

In the shot you are trying to emulate the horizon is much higher. That may help.

But also, in your image the background is a cloudy, stormy sky. So the hard line of the horizon doesn't really work with clouds. Try blending the ground into the sky more to make it look like the ground is disappearing into the fog and see if that looks better.

Make another picture on another location that is better and photoshop the sky in.

Just noticed, you still have tree in the window which looks a bit odd. What mcdronkz said, find a better location for the original shot without the busy background.

Sweet!

Replace the windshield or burn it, but otherwise I think this is cool!

You've made a good start on it & it will look great when you're done! I agree with what's been said. Make another picture on another location that is better and photoshop the sky in. The back of the body & back window are a problem that most people wouldn't notice, but these guys are pretty good! You could take another shot from the same angle & try to PS just that part in, but it probably would be easier to just start out with another whole car.

Great idea! Keep at it.

Though, with all the comments about what could be improved, what you have done is pretty awesome. That background absolutely rocks, the colour change of the car works really well and the two mix really well. It is only pedantic subtleties that we are messing with. :D

all in all, i think you've done some great work here.
however, i'd recommend softening up the horizon line and car shadow. and maybe a darker shade of glass on the door.
