that's a really cool effect you've got going with the clouds like that. awesome shot, I like it a lot

the poorly done clouds make the image horrible

nice shot except the clouds...
perhaps if you left out the drop-shadow under the clouds, it would have been hard to notice...

I guess the smiley in your title indicates you wanted to joke around... but try without the shadow... I think you can fool a lot of people...

I like the fakeness to them, makes you take a second look at the picture. Nice

ummm while you guys were commenting on the clouds, i was staring at the main subject, the babe sitting on the sand. come on now, focus!

i love this picture, great model and good work on the lighting on her face and i love the clouds. good work

Those clouds ruin the photo. Nothing wrong with photoshopping them in, but they look much too fake.

OK. We get it. It's whimsical.
No disrespect but to offer just one opinion, it's not very good whimsy.

The good news is there's a market for just about anything as the variety of opinions here can attest.

The obviously fake clouds demand attention and draw focus away from her. I'm with the "lose the clouds" group. They ruin what would otherwise be a great picture.

I agree...ALthough the clouds add a great effect to the picture but it does happen to take away from the main subject of the photo and that's the model...Nice photo non-the-less

I like it... but I think the clouds need to go farther into the background. The drop shadows puts them on a plain almost equal to the model (lovely, by the way). Lose the shadow and darken them just a tad so they won't be competing with her shirt for attention.

I like the clouds. It gives the shot that "donkey kong" look ;-) or maybe Mario Brothers

I like the idea of the faked in clouds but I think they are too big, and have too much shadow. Good concept though.

Great shot! The model is absolutely gorgeous. The clouds made me do a double take! They're a riot!! I envision one of those serta mattress sheep peeking over the clouds. hahaha.

Oh man, Donkey Kong! I love that game.

I've been trying to find a PC version of Donkey Kong Country forever, no luck. :-P. I'm not a big fan of games, but put Donkey Kong in front of me (or Captain Claw :)), and I'll be stuck in front of the computer for hours.

As for the photo... pretty cool ;)

I was thinking more of the Mario Brothers......I like the effect....breaks from the norm. BTW That was taken with a fish-eye....outstanding! :D

Very nice model, If i where jealous I did't get to shoot her, I'ld say the fill in is a bit much to my taste.... Like the clouds. Just corny enough... Do some others a favour and post one without clouds. I think they'll miss 'em ;)
Did I mention the fill in is a bit much?

What a wonderful idea, I think this type of image will always appeal to some viewers & yet leave others wondering why has he done that.

What you have,
an absolutely stunning model in a great location and good quallity of light.
composition is first rate, with strong positioning within the frame. exposure well handled & good sharpness thoughout.

What you have done,
the clever inclusion of these clouds creates a surreal pictorial image, and also provides additional points of interest & therefore giving us reason to study the picture more.

What you may like to try,
someone above suggested toning down the clouds.
my own view is that the large white cloud fights for priority ( to big in this scene)
so remove it, the small cloud behind the girls head also detracts slightly,
Now the cloud on the left is in a great possition with the girl looking to it.
we have now shifted the priority to the attractive model and our remaining surreal cloud works better in my view, the clever technique is the same,
Maybe a small crop all around for even more impact.

I think you should develop this further with other images as well.

I just had to show my thoughts on this one as it really got me thinking by way of demo ( i hope you wont mind ) a vary rough image below. this is my way but everyone different fortunately.

I don't know why, but Roger Rabbit just flashed in my mind.

Very creative, and well executed.

So the clouds make the photo a little "camp". It certainly doesn't take MY eyes off the model. I like the touch of whimsy myself.

Have you tried this image in black & white its magic.
try Photoshop / chanel mixer /red chanel.
range of tones are great with this type of image.

the reason this picture works so well even played about with, is the image is great in the first place .
Often when i'm out judging comps i see photos that were not good to start with, so because of our wonderful programs like photoshop etc. some assume great pictures can be created from bad.

I would be the first to say good shots can be improved upon with the minimum of editing.
but great shots like yours would still look good even without the mod approach.
when i mentioned in my earlier post for you to develope this idea, i had thoughts other than just clouds, so some yatchs, boats, planes, whatever.
Thoughts ?
