Chef.I really like this! Perhaps next time you could place a backlight in there and get his hair seperated from the BG.but I like it anyway! It changes as I move my monitor screen :)

Thank you Flo, its my 1st trial at strobist portraits.......have u ever tried focusing in almost darkness? oh the joy! but yes i agree this image is ......quite ok for a 1st time more is in my flickr.

I could be wrong but I don't think the 350 D or the 430 EX have focus assist. With a 580 or a ST-E2 you could have focus assist that will get you focus in the dark. I agree about the backlight, the light you have on your left could be moved behind the right shoulder of the model and push him out a bit. Good first attempt.

Somtim you are right, especially not since i use flashwaves so everyhing has to be done manually, but that doesnt stop me!

I think it's a good first attempt, very decent portrait, just a tad dark on top of his right shoulder
