Hello All,
My camera, 400D/XTi, does not have a PC socket and I would like to play about with ON and OFF camera flash.
Would anyone know if there's such an adapter to sit in my cameras hot shoe which would have a PC socket, and which will allow a flash to be connected to the top and communicate with the camera as normal?
All I'm thinking is a cheap option for on camera flash with the ability to connect to a trigger for off camera flash.
Thanks,
Jason

Dork,
You do understand that your hot-shoe mounted flash will be manual mode only.
Right?
I was reading your name and the thought occurred to me.....

After rereading your post, I noticed that you also want to operate the flash "as normal" with it sitting on top of the adapter. If by "as normal" you mean that you want the flash to work in ETTL mode, I'm afraid that won't be possible. You will be able to trigger the flash but it'll need to be in manual mode just like the flash that's off-camera.

Indeed, after a quick look around and noticing FlashZebra state the flash would be limited to manual mode then it clicked I doubt it would be possible.
But this is still an option.
Thanks both.

It seems you need the XT-to-40D adapter
;)
