I was looking for options to upgrade my 18-55 kit lens and came across the Canon EF22-55mm f/4-5.6 USM lens (also suitable for use with 35mm SLR's). Does anybody have any experience with this lens and if so, wold it be considered an upgrade from the kit lens?

Check the reviews here (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=161&sort=7&cat=27&page=2)
with the kit-lens you have a greater range (18-55) and if you don't need it on the Full-Frame SLR, I guess it does the same as the kit-lens
(I have a 20D with the kit-lens and I wouldn't change the 18-55 for a 22-55 from the reviews I read. My only upgrade for the 18-55 would be the 17-40L. But I'm happy with the 18-55 for what I need it)
