Of course it's okay. Anyone who seriously thinks otherwise isn't worth bothering with anyhow. Anyway, it's a really fun focal length and f stop to work with. Perhaps not the most versatile on a crop body though, depending. I don't pull it out all the time, but I should more. I don't know about the Nikon version, but stopped down my Canon 50 is quite sharp. I'd imagine yours is the same.

People were just having you on. Everyone is welcome here no matter what gear they shoot with.

It's not a problem, but you were obviously rubbing "NIKON" in on this shot. Not a problem though ;) so don't sweat it!

As for the picture, looks a little underexposed and soft (maybe due to shooting at 1.8?)
Congrats on the 50. It's a fun lens! just got the 85 1.8 here, and I LOVE shallow DOF.

Hi Bilal, don't let the Nikon comments get to you. Any fan of photography is welcome here at POTN.

As for your shot, it has decent composition but the exposure and focus is off. The entire shot seems underexposed and the foreground subject (your camera) is slightly OOF. If you could do the same shot again but lighten up the exposure a little, nail the focus on the camera (or atleast the Nikon moniker part) and PP-it a little so the camera 'pops', it would make for a great photo showing off the DoF.

Looking forward to more of your posts!

The shot has a great tone and feel, perhaps a bit dark. It appears very sharp.

What really bothers me about it is the impression that you are holding and shooting a P&S.
