I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality and versatility of the Canon 10-22. Sharpness at 22mm is excellent, and the creativity of shooting up close (within inches) at 10mm makes for shots that I would have never gotten otherwise. The lens is light but well built, focus is very fast, and it's nice that everything's internal so it doesn't muck with my CP filter.
I just finished a shoot in El Paso of a famous P.I. (who had his arms blown off when he was 11, so he has mechanical attachments - a group of beautiful tigers on his 11 acre estate, monkeys, parrots, you name it... oh and he rescued Marlon Brando's son in his hey-day) Anyways, I found that on this shoot I ended up using the 10-22 more than the 28-75 or 50.
If you're contemplating buying one of these lenses because you don't know if you'll use it or not, believe me, you'll end up using it about 8x more than you imagined up front - and not just novelty 'fisheye' like shots. Just wait a week or so until Dell has it for $649 again. Then you can use it for 6 months and sell if for $675 on eBay :)
I won't use this as an excuse to inline photos though ;)
