I would like to use this picture as B&W but bring the ring out in its original color. Does anyone know how to do this using Photoshop Elements 2.0? Any help is very much appreciated.

Yes. You need to first desaturate the original image. Then use the history brush over the parts you want to bring back into color. This is how it is done in PhotoShop 6.0 and 7.0. I am not sure if it will work same in elements or not.

Since it looks like you already have both images, copy the colored image as a layer on top of teh B&W image. Then erase everything but the ring from the colored image.

Thanks Dustin & Leo. I think I got it. Pretty simple actually.
