In the last couple of days I've noticed a strange circle like form that appears in the pictures I take.
I'm using a Canon 10D body with several lenses.
The strange spot seems to be coming from inside the camera.
I've dismounted the lens and saw spot on the inside mirror, but can't figure out where it's coming from.
It looks to me like a water drop (the good scenario) or a glass brake (the very bad scenario).
Before I take the body to a lab for a check (it's out of warranty...), Are there any ideas on how to check this problem without causing damage to the camera?
After ruining one lens with a totally unnecessary dismantling I've done, I don't want to do it again...
I've attached a cropped part of a photo I took yesterday. The spot is visible in the middle.
What do you think?

Since the circle is on the picture it will not be on you mirror.

Most likly something is on the sensor.

You can pay to have Canon clean you sensor but many people have done this for no gain.

You can clean the sensor yourself. There are many threads here that talk about this just do a search.

If the spot is on the sensor, How come I can see it in mirror when the shutter is closed?

It might be a dumb question.. but have you tried with another lens?

I've tried with several lenses.
It's not the lens.
The spot is visable on the inside mirror when I don't have any lens attached.
There are a few dust drops on the CMOS sensor but I don't see how they can reflect to the mirror when the shutter is closed?

It's a crop circle. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif

The spot you see on your photo is not the same spot you see on the mirror. If you have tried different lenses then the spot is on the sensor. Cleaning the sensor should get rid of it.

Maybe all the aliens got bored of crop circles and started making circles in your camera instead?

Since the mirror flips up out of the way for the picture taking part anything on the mirror will not show up on the final picture.
It would only be visable when you are looking through the view finder.

No UFO reported to have landed in this field?
