Could someone suggest a few good books & or websites on how to pose people, techniques etc.

why not just buy some magazines?

i have a whole ton of magazine that i get photos from.

That's a great piece of advice. Magazines are a great source of varied styles you can get ideas from. Vanity Fair is my fave. I just buy it for the pictures. :)

Could someone suggest a few good books & or websites on how to pose people, techniques etc.

I have a free tutorial on posing and lighting that about 66000 others have looked at. It can be found at http://photocamel.com/forum/tutorials/16516-rules-good-portraiture.html

In addition to that one I have also written several more on posing the BBT (Big Beautiful Teen) how to do the traditional head shot (the hardest portrait image in the world to do) and several others.

As far as posing ideas, I also get ideas from fashion magazines etc.

These are the same tutorials just on different websites. Lumintouch asked me if they could post it on their site. I'm told however than one image didn't make the transfer by several people.

+1 for Benji's post, I have used them often and usually curse his name when it doesn't come out as well at times. I'm still learning. :-)

I actually checked both of these books out of the library to see if they were worth the money to purchase. They were.
