I know the lighting is flat. I just took a few snaps after the UPS guy showed up this afternoon.
I think I am over-sharpening my images after resize but it could be me, I tend to be overly critical. Any opinions welcome.

Nope. It doesn't look overly sharpened at all.
Cute candid.

I can't see any halo around, so I won't think it's oversharpened. And yeah, cute candid!

Warmed it up and fixed the poor lighting a little. I sharpened this one differently but I still see some artifacts around his knee. Anyone else see it? I guess it really doesn't matter, but thanks in advance for help.

Thank you, candid shots are all I can get from this one. He hates the camera.

Sam, you need to over sharpen if your going to print the photo on a printer. Over wise I would say great candid, and not over sharpened at all.

These are purely for computer display. We keep in touch with family online. I have another workflow for prints, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
I think just having a new camera body is making me look harder than I need to. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Hey Sam... it's been a while, eh?
It might be just a tad oversharpened. I see a little bit of halo around his right sleeve and the back of his left arm. It's very very little though. I love the shot though. The second one looks better. What did UPS bring to you?

One of the AF points on my 20d died and it was out of calibration. With the Holidays coming up I just went ahead and upgraded to the 40d just in case things went bad and I was locked into either my old 300d that my daughter uses or film.
Yeah, it's been a while. Doesn't seem like it but wow it has been :) I was off work this week so I had a chance to play around and realized my camera was broken :(

I love the shot... :) The DOF is perfect and the little changes you added to warm it up looks nice. But I like my images warm...
I don't see oversharpening at this level.... If the image were a larger view, maybe, but at this size it looks perfect.
Jackson is so cute! He's grown a LOT! Wow!
Congratultions on the new camera.. Can't wait to see more! :)

The sun was over the horizon (AKA the house across the street) by the time Lexi got home tonight. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to play... :(

It's pretty anyway.. the exposure looks nice... dodge the highlights in her eyes and I'm sure you can bring them out...
85mm @ f/2.2?
How do you like the camera?
And last of all... wow..... Look at how much Lexie has matured... she looks so grown up... sad how quickly they grow.... :( But she is just as beautiful as always...
Nice to see you shooting again.. I wondered....

I like it..not oversharpened at all in my opinion but I"m no pro. I like it when it looks that sharp!

Both wonderful captures. Neither look over sharpened on my end.

Looks tack sharp to me...but I'll be the relative noobie that asks why you have to oversharpen if printing on a printer?

Work has been hectic this year and I haven't had a lot of free time.

Whenever you resize pictures you need to sharpen them or they lose a little bit, I think that has something to do with it. Plus on print you aren't looking at the image on an HD monitor. No idea what the technical answer is, but it's why I sharpen them up for print.
these look great!
Thank you.
