Bit late, but haven't posted for a while so why not heh. Was at Brands Hatch last weekend for the 2008 Formula Ford Festival. The support wasn't really to my liking but the Formula Ford's were as good as ever, lots of close racing... often too close at times too!

Weather wasn't too bad, bit nippy but no rain so can't grumble. Can tell winters here, having to ramp up ISO at the end of the day now.

Right, in the last couple of weeks I've bought a new monitor (an LG M198WDP - for those bothered - bargain!). Spent a fair bit of time adjusting the settings. Please can you let me know what you think of the images below, are the colours, brightness etc ok? Be critical, I'd like to know now if you think they suck. thanks lol

Right enough waffle, here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos for comment (now 1024x as it fits on my screen lol)... all shot with 40D and 100-400, 24-105 or 10-20...

cheers!

P.S the new screen is wicked, 1440x900 res on PC. I hook up my Xbox360 to it too as it has HDMI (1080P) and I can watch f/view TV on it too. Woooo

Very nice, Az. You've caught some excellent action. As for colours, brightness etc.; as you know ('cos we've talked about it), you've always tended to over-saturated a little for my taste. These, however, look very good and I'd say they're bang-on. The only one I'd criticise is #6 where I think it's a little over-exposed in the area of the pit-lane buildings.

cheers

thanks Glenn for feedback, good to hear they seem ok to you (apart from the colours lol). Yeh I know the sky on #2 is a little bit o/x, was quite hard balancing as the foreground (where the leading car is) was quite dark and the background very bright. Think I used Manual exposure and possibly overdid it by 1/2 a stop. cheers for feedback anyway :)

1# and 5# for me mate , the wide angle 10mm one is very interesting angle too , like it ...

these do seem a little toned down compared to your usual shots , which are ever so slightly oversaturated , the seem much better .. but i like an image with lots of colour so these i like alot , maybe a tad of contrast reduction could not go a miss

wicked shots mate :)

Azza,
You are the master of flying racing cars from Brands, more top drawer stuff.

Re colours ,
If the master Glenn says they are right ,then that's good enough for me .
Great set as usual,
Pons

Great set Az, with #1 being an absolute corker - he's certainly got a bit of air!

cheers chaps. I'll bear that in mind Paul. Anyway it's good to hear they aren't a million miles off compared to before the monitor charge - it's amazing how everything just seem "different" on this screen. cheers

A very nice series of shots. The first one is a poster shot IMHO.
