Few new hockey shots from tonight's game. Kingston won, which isn't a common occurrence. Hopefully have a few games lined up to shoot in the bigs in the next few weeks, that with some world junior action is making this out to be a good season so far.

Good job. I like that last one.
What kind of credentials do you have for shooting? Do you need permission from the 'O' or just from Kingston?
On Tavares - it's probably the easiest argument to get into around here - will he be a boom or a bust and do you risk a top 3 pick on him. Most tend to agree that his head has to grow up now as fast as his hockey skills have previously.

I'm accredited with the CHL so I can shoot any CHL game(OHL,WHL,QJMHL)
Tavares certainly has the skill, will have to see how he pans out.

I drove 3 1/2 hours two seasons ago to shoot John, got there and was not allowed to shoot because the team photog had a problem with the company that wanted me there. He scored two goals and one assist in the first and I just grabbed my stuff and left. Have to track him down at some point this season. Be interesting to see if he does become what people think he will.

MJPHOTO, I have had a similiar experience as you trying to shoot in Oshawa. I was shooting for an opposing team and never been so hassled at an event. Team requested that I meet Mr. Goodall before the game so he knew what I looked like! As the game began, Ushers came no less than 4 times during the first period to check my creds and even took the pass to the office to confirm it was real. During the 2nd period, I was surprised that he felt it necessary to come and shoot directly behind me but up in the upper level. I have no idea why he feels the need to be the "Alpha " male photog.

Pretty much sums it up right there...trying to force everyone to use his images only and doesn't want companies hiring someone else. Sole reason I was there was because they did NOT want anything to do with him. Oh well, it's there rules there you have to play by so nothing to do.

Similar problems here... local team has had an exclusive with a local photog for many years and, as a local myself, getting credentials is like pulling hens' teeth. There's no problem with outsiders such as photographers from other teams, local media, or major publications, but he blocks any attempt by other locals to get in.
The funniest part is that the guy's main niche is wedding photography, and his hockey photos tend to have that same, soft, dreamy look as his wedding shots...
Good shots, btw!
