While in Wales on Friday manage to catch a couple of F15 in the Mach Loop. Thought I would share as they don't usually come low that often.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe a hilltop?

High, a place called the Blwch on the A470 near Dolgellau, a well known spot for the lowlevel community in the UK.

Great shots and reminded me of when I was hiking in Wales 25+ years ago and got buzzed by a jet which was flying along the ridges. I felt it coming and looked to my left only to look right into the eyes of the pilot who was level with me for about 2 seconds before he was gone.
To this day people don't believe me when I tell that story. It's great to see the pictures that back my experience.

I know just what you mean ~ we were climbing (I think it was in the Llanberis Pass) when a couple of Harriers went by below us - yes I said below us! This was sometime in the mid 1970's - made for quite an event when your halfway up a long pitch :D

Great Images!
#1 needs to be printed very large and hung in a very prominent location.
One of these days the lottery will pay off and I'll be able to visit this magical place.

Were these just visiting or are there F-15s based in the UK somewhere? I notice they are wearing the US star and stripes...

The first shot has a unique composition and looks good, I'd like to see it with a tighter composition as well.

Great shots. That "plan view" is a cracker. I was at the 'heath today but all I was able to get (in the time available) were some shots through the fence of some departing single-seat Eagles). I must get up to the Mach Loop when I'm back in the UK full-time. I don't think that the single-seat F-15s go to the loop as these departed to the north-east.

Excellent Captures. #3 seems to have the best appeal to my eyes.
Awesome captures would love to get the chance to shoot there.
Andrew,
Would you be willing to hike up the Mountain with your 500/4, just to shoot fighters on the Loop?
