I took this shot from my room while I was in Downtown San Francisco. Feedback is greatly appreciated so I can sharpen my skills.

The black and white is noisier; the color has some blown highlights. Hard to get a balance between the two. Nice shot in terms of general composition. You might try taking multiple images next time, exposed for the highlights and the shadows separately, and combine them in post processing.

Turn off the lights in your room before taking photos through glass, a reflection of the curtains and a doorway in the background are visible..

Tell the cam to underexpose it a little bit by using exposure compensation;
experiment, -1/3, -2/3, etc. and see when those blown out streets come back from white.
Also worthy of experiment is raising the horizon so to include less sky.

i can see where you stitched the pictures... only thing i can criticize.

thank you everyone for your advice. Oh and RadAL, the picture isn't stitched. I shot it with my Tokina wide angle lens. Unfortunately the lines in the picture were from the curtain from the room window
