We went for a walk and took some pictures this afternoon. We are both way out of practice but it was fun either way.

Pretty... :)
I like the warm glow on #1, but #2 has to be my favorite just because it's just purely natural...
She is growing up to be so beautiful... (of course she was always, so it makes sense).
You're going to be in trouble when the boys start coming around. :p

Are these dark to anyone? I just looked at them on a computer that is not mine and they look pretty dark.
Thanks for the comments.

They did look dark to me. Saved one and adusted it to see and it is possible to make them less dark while enhancing the shot. Looks better. Look at the histogram, the shots are weigthed to the left.

They don't look that dark on my screen... at least not your subject.
I think you are using flash... so the backgrounds are looking dark. You can drag the shutter a little to let more ambient light come through. That might help.
The last shot is dark, but the highlights are hot. So you probably aren't shooting at an optimal time of day for full sun maybe? Or if you just popped a reflector on the shadow side, then you could have created a better exposure.
I realize you were out on a walk.. so for what it is, they are perfect. :)
Having fun with your new camera?

Agreed, the time of day makes it challenging. They look good. With some effort one would be able to work with the highlights to reduce the effect.
Not looking for processing examples, but thank you David. My monitor is not calibrated and I was wondering if these look too dark to others.

Actually, and not to be rude or anything, but Solinger does not have his "Image Editing Okay" turned on. So really should not edit and repost his images without prior written permission by him... as in the terms of the forum...
I've done it before on accident, just trying to help someone, but when I realized it, I removed it.

Do not post another photographer's photos without permission from that photographer. Any photos violating copyright laws will be removed.
If you do not have written permission to edit that photo, or the member has not set the Image Editing Okay flag (in User CP), you may not edit that photo and post the edited photo back. This applies to ALL FORUMS.

Look good to me on calibrated monitor.
I think the perception may be dark due to the background, part of the compostion IMHO and makes the subject colors "pop"
Nice for a stroll and a stunning young lady you have.
I see she doesnt mind posing either, I sure know that feeling with my 9 YO daughter.

Apologies, I ownly responded based on your question of being dark and a picture is a thousand words. Not showing the ability to process at all. Your processing or editing is perfect for the shots. That is why I also reduced the size. Will remove the image.

I like the first one.Nice simple pose and good natural lighting. The only thing that I see that is distracting is the house ( I think it's a house) on the left of the pose.
